Do you choose a word of the year?
2019 with be the eighth year for me and this practice. In fact, I can’t really imagine stepping in to a new year without a sacred word.
My word (which is sometimes a phrase) floats around in my consciousness all year long and starts to make its ways known around the end of the year.
That’s when I’ll notice ways that my word has guided me, what I’ve learned from it, or what’s come to be as a result.
For me, choosing a word isn’t about trying to make something magical happen - it’s about energy and focus.
It’s a sort of prayer.
For the second year, I’m offering Your Sacred Word paintings to serve as containers for your new year intentions:
You can read more about this offering at the bottom of this page.
I’d love to hear about your experiences choosing a guiding word.
Do you engage in this practice?
What happened for you this year as a result of choosing a sacred word (or allowing one to choose you)?
