This month, we celebrated our niece’s sixteenth birthday (she got her learner’s permit) and Tracy’s sister’s birthday.
I wore this Frida Kahlo top that I found second hand! It made me happy. (Clothing sometimes does that.)
A lot of people wondered why I wasn’t in England this month.
I didn’t go on my mom’s trip this year. She went with a friend, and while I did miss it, I was also glad to not be in the crowds.
I painted live this month at a fundraiser.
People gave me their prayers and intentions as they came in and I created the Prayer Painting during the event. It was a lot of fun - plus it was at the castle and I’d never been before.
We added another animal to our pack this month.
She’s a rescue cat, about 15 years old, and bonded to Tracy - who scooped her up and took her to the vet when she was almost dead. She’s never lived indoors and won’t use a litter box, so we have to keep her outside, but she seems to have adjusted pretty well to her new surroundings.
She’s a hunter and stalks around while the birds talk about her.
Her name, which she knows, was Pounces, but we changed it to Penny, which she doesn’t know yet.
I also launched an email course this month, Fill Up Your Cup - built around daily meditation and spiritual self-care, and I started recording guided meditations. You can request a custom meditation to meet your needs, and I’m pretty excited to start doing these. (Thank you to my BFF, who suggested this.)

I continued to lose weight this month. I will have been working my BLE program for one year in two days, and I’m about 4 pounds from my goal weight.
I wrote a very long post that I was planning on sharing on my one-year anniversary, but I’ve decided against it. I’m just going to keep it for my own reference. There is something, however, I feel the need to say -
While I’m super happy about my weight loss, because it feels so much better to be in a this-sized body, the real miracle of BLE has been the change in my overall health and wellness.
I completely understand the attitude about food and women that says we should all stop trying to control our eating and our bodies and eat intuitively.
I see and here a lot of, “I stopped dieting/restricting food/caring about my weight and everything got better.” If that’s true for you, I’m so happy for you. That’s beautiful and wonderful and I’m so happy for you.
But please understand that life is not one size fits all.
For some of us, eating intuitively or dropping controls does not make everything better. It makes everything much worse. We can’t eat intuitively because our brains are sending a mixed up signal.
You may have been told that food addiction is not a real thing but believe me, it is real.
Please honor yourself. Please honor what is true for you.
Bright Line Eating is a lifesaver for me.
Here at this New Moon in Virgo, at the end of the month of August, I welcome the transformation that comes with the end of the year.
I love to hear from you, and I’m always open to your suggestions for things you’d like to see here.
That’s a wrap on August.
Let’s see where we go in September!
